Checkpoint goes into virtualization
By Jerome Saiz, Fri, October 12th, 2007
Checkpoint announces ForceField, a client end-point security based on a virtual environment. Due at the beginning of 2008, ForceField will provide a virtual browser isolated from the system, and a host of other security checks.
ForceField, the upcoming end-point client security tool from Checkpoint will offer a virtual environment isolated from the host system. The browser will be safe from threats coming from the internet, while the browsing session will be isolated from potential snooping tools already downloaded on the PC.
The new solution will also check the websites on the fly (on a reputation basis), and a few other security measures including an antispyware and an online backup for critical system files.
ForceField is due at the beginning of 2008, and we probably be having a closer look at it when it's available.
