This is a Press Release edited by SecurityNewsletter.com on Fri, October 19th, 2007
General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, announced today that the TACLANE-Router (KG-175R) has been certified by the National Security Agency (NSA) to protect information moving through military and government networks to the Top Secret level and below.
The KG-175R replaces multiple pieces of network equipment previously needed for similar network routing and encryption functions.
The TACLANE-Router directs information from a network sender to the recipient’s destination while securing the transmitted information. The KG-175R is also compliant with NSA network routing security guidelines and the High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor Interoperability Specification (HAIPE IS) standard for use from the core of a network to the battlefield’s tactical edge.
«The KG-175R is the first NSA certified network encryptor with router functionality, » said John Cole, vice president of Information Assurance for General Dynamics C4 Systems. « By providing multiple functions in a single device, military and government users can significantly reduce size, weight and power requirements for both stationary and on-the-move networks. » General Dynamics C4 Systems is an integrator of secure communication and information systems and technology. With more than 11,000 employees worldwide, the company specializes in command and control, communications networking, computing and information assurance for defense, government and select commercial customers in the United States and abroad.
