Orange Business Services unveils IP VPN Protected
This is a Press Release edited by SecurityNewsletter.com on Thu, October 18th, 2007
Orange Business Services has launched IP VPN Protected worldwide. IP VPN Protected allows companies to protect their remote sites from internal and external attack with a firewall and/or an intrusion prevention system for EUR 50 per month per option.
IP VPN Protected includes two options for straightforward and attractively-priced remote site security:
- The firewall option. The company determines the screening rules, which can either be general or specific to one site. Implementation: EUR100 plus monthly subscription charge of EUR50.
- The intrusion prevention option. This service inspects inputs and outputs and prevents viruses circulating, such as any virus from the PCs of members of staff remotely connecting to the site. Implementation: EUR100 plus monthly subscription charge of EUR50.
These options are based on the capacities of the very latest ISRs (Integrated Service Routers). They can be integrated into the corporate IP VPN with no additional equipment required. Furthermore, their features can be adjusted for each site, while complying with the company's overall security policy
IP VPN Protected is an addition to Orange Business Services' existing security product range. Since 2006, Orange Business Services has been selling the following ranges for hub and critical sites:
- hub site: "Secure Gateway" range, supplied through an additional box, supervised and managed 24/7 by dedicated teams, at an average monthly price of EUR 160 per option. The range includes three options, namely managed firewall, managed access control and managed anti-virus services.
- critical site: "Unified Defence" range, supplied through an additional box, managed 24/7 by dedicated teams, at a monthly cost of EUR600. The range includes managed firewall and managed anti-virus services. Intrusion detection and prevention, plus URL screening, are further options incurring an additional charge.
The IP VPN network owned and run by Orange Business Services covers 220 countries and territories and numbered 300,000 worldwide accesses on 1 October 2007.
